Mamaka Village Grain Store complete!

Here it is...Mamaka Village's brand-new grain store! Thanks to on-going donations it has been possible to complete the grain store and hand the keys over to the village people. This will prove to be an immensely important building as it will help protect the vilager's harvest from the elements, animals and theft.
Thank you to all those who supported this project. We hope that you will continue to support the Masebeh Trust to help us relieve some of the extreme poverty that exists within Sierra Leone.

Grain Store construction gets underway

We are delighted to report that the Masebeh Trust's second project has now begun. Following the great success of the well we constructed in Mamaka Village, Sierra Leone we are continuing our work here as we have forged excellent relations with the local community and chiefs.
The project is the construction of a grain store to protect the villager's harvests from both the elements and theft. Villagers will pay a small fee to use an allocated area of the store and the money raised will be used for the employment of staff to look after the management and maintainence of the store.
Timing for this project could not have been any better as the first phase needs to be constructed during the dry season so we have a window of time from now until May this year to get the foundation work complete.
Thank you to all those of have donated money so generously to get this project up and running. We are still looking to raise a further £1000 to ensure that the grain store is fully completed, so if you are able to help, even with the smallest amount, please click here.

Our first Well Project is completed!
Trust President, Soriba Sesay, and Fundraising Co-ordinator, Sandy Wright visit Mamaka Village, Sierra Leone to over-see the final stages of well construction and the take part in the openning ceremony of Masebeh Trust's first well project.
"This has been a fantastic project" says Soriba, "It will change the lives of many people forever and we now look forward to working towards constructing a grain storage facility in the village too"
Sandy added, "It has been such an inspiration to meet these people first hand and the witness the poverty they live in. There is so much more we can do to help and we have many fundraising events coming up to get us towards funding our next project"
As well as visiting the well, Sandy and Soriba took various items to give as gifts to children at a local school, including stationary, toys and sports equipment. Also as part of our 'Phones for Friends' appeal we were able to donate dozens of mobile phones to villagers in need to this useful commodity.
